Mary Ann Bedick

Mary Ann Bedick serves as a training and technical assistance specialist at Assumption College, where she works full-time with the New England TACE project. She has twenty years of experience in vocational rehabilitation (VR), having worked as a rehabilitation counselor and supervisor for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.

Mary Ann’s areas of expertise include rehabilitation ethics, VR counseling skills, the use of web and social media resources in VR, and serving individuals who are blind, visually impaired, Deaf, or Hard of Hearing. She also has extensive experience with assessment of and plan development with the VR consumer, psychiatric rehabilitation, supervisory skills, the provision of VR employment services, services to transition youth, and case process and management.

Mary Ann's current activities include building online training webinars and distance education (using Blackboard) and curriculum development focused on the use of Motivational Interviewing Skills in VR. Past projects include the “Career Development in VR” certificate series and “The Use of Coaching Skills in VR Practice.” Mary Ann is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Assumption College and has presented at state level as well as at national conferences.
